Mentor Coaching

(The International Coach Federation describes Mentor Coaching this way:  "Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential consists of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies. Mentoring provides professional assistance in achieving and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency and capability demanded by the desired credential level. Mentor Coaching should take place over an extended time (three-month minimum) in a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Mentor Coach while also allowing reflection and practice on the part of the individual being mentored."

Focusing on ICF Core Competencies, I mentor coaches who are eager to deepen their coaching skills enabling their clients to achieve new multi-level awarenesses and action steps.  Both group and individual Mentor Coaching is available.  Contact me for more details and to discuss your needs and goals for Mentor Coaching (both individual and group Mentor Coaching options are available).

My Mentor Coaching style is to provide support and affirmation for your coaching skills while also helping you explore ways that you can develop your coaching skills to even greater levels of competency and effectiveness.  The process is that you, the coach, choose to record either a 30 minute coaching session which we then debrief during the remainder of the one hour session -- or, particularly if you are preparing recordings for ICF certification application -- you may choose to record a 45-50 minute coaching session which we will debrief during the remainder of a 90 minute conversation.  For each session, you will identify which ICF competency(ies) you are working on and would like me to especially listen for.  We listen to the recording simultaneously and then discuss what you now hear that you did especially well or might wish to try another way in the future.  I will also share with you what strengths I heard and possible areas for continued growth that we can discuss together.  Following our call I will send you written notes of what I heard in your recorded call related to the ICF PCC Markers (even if you are a very new coach or seeking to apply for ACC, the PCC markers are the benchmarks that ICF urges all coaches to keep in sight and grow toward).
